My letter of 27th September, paragraph i.
It now appears most unlikely for various reasons that visit of Inter-University Council delegation can be arranged in January as hoped. Adems will be writing direct to University abouth this. Matter has be¬n fully discusseð
with glosa and Cox and we arc all agreed that Hong Kong's cave is not likely to be prejudiced by the delay in the visit of delegation, which would certainly take place before deater at latest. Indeed there is considerable advantage in the delay in that we hope to secure a stronger delegation than would be possible in January. In a recent letter to Sloss, we understand that kide indicated that postponement of visit will Easter would not cause undue embarrassment at your end, Rida did not, however, make any apceific reference to properation of some alternative plan su contemplated in paragraph 5 of my letter.
3 I hope that you will shere my view that in all the circumstances postponement of vigit till March, which would probably suit Inter-University Council best, will be
að vantageous though, if austable personnel became available earlier, visit could be arranged earlier. Please also telegraph whether slternative plan has, in fact, been prepared, If not, suggest this should be put in hand at once.
